POSITION OVERVIEW

We are adding a Senior Tax Accountant to our team due to company growth and legislation changes effecting our business in North America.  In this role, you will support both US and International Tax filings, as well as review new regulations and develop systems and processes for our organization to follow, to meet those new requirements.  Additional responsibilities include tax auditing, interfacing with stakeholders in the office and in the field to research and analyze complex tax issues.  Our Corporate Tax team is a dedicated team of experts that are passionate about what they do, know how to solve problems and are inspired to coach and develop new employees.  This team supports all of Kiewit’s operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico, so if you want to expand or grow your knowledge into International Tax, our team of experts will help get you there!   Kiewit offers competitive salaries, great benefits, a great history of stability and profitability and rewarding careers with opportunities of advancement.

LOCATION

This position is based in our headquarters office in Omaha, NE. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review of U.S. federal, state, and U.S. international tax filings (Forms 1065, 1120, 1118, 5471, 8858, and 8865). 
  • Review of Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns.
  • Perform Computation of estimated tax payments.
  • Complete assigned projects within schedule.
  • Monitor and interpret tax legislation.  
  • Provide solutions and guidance for systems/processes that may need to be added or adjusted to meet new legislation requirements.
  • Perform with income tax audits and field support. 
  • Research and analyze tax issues.
  • Interact with key stakeholders, including Kiewit Management, other financial departments, tax preparers and external auditors.

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor’s Degree in accounting is required.
•    Minimum of 5 years of corporate income tax experience.
•    Effective communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to work with all levels of staff
•    Proven accounting/tax technical abilities, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
•    Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, income tax compliance and research software).
•    Must be able to meet deadlines, juggle multiple tasks and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
•    Some travel may be required.
